i dont think it would work, and what would happen if you got ACADEMIC VERSION!?!

Anyways, I had hard troubles returning vista, this would be near impossible for me.

As an ex-staple employee, we would push for the customer to get a gift card. So, hold your ground and insist on getting your money back. As previously stated, stores are now logging your ID and only allowing a limited number of returns per ID number.

he is on to something good here most stores will give in store credit but make sure that you only do it like once twice a year because now they keep your info in the computer and some only allow up to two returns per year like wolly world aka walmart
