problem with this is the database is over 3,000,000 pictures LARGE
ive heard talk on other forums that there is a way to get around it and there talking to decaptcher about implementing it.
the problem: that they may be adding more pictures for every new pet that gets put on petfinder.com due to them being sent in by user's and user input
maybe good: i dont think the "asirra" is totally accurate i have gotten some pictures that say picture is unavailable. also there are pictures with dogs and cats in them, and some pictures are just hard to see period. if you also read the article it says this "Asirra is still in beta-testing; the service and its API may both be unstable."
if you find anything wrong i've typed here tell me and ill change it i just wrote this up quick to inform people about what it is
yeah i read that earlier today in another website, guess that's why they removed it for one day then put it back up, it's in beta and still has bugs, i think they better get back captcha and let us all play or just enjoy their market drop so fast cause i am sure botting was makin them 70-80% of their profit from clubbing searches if not more
What I'm curious about is if the file names are always the same or if they change each time. In other words would it be feasible to just keep a list of all the image names instead of the actual image, and just keep the names in a database along with if they are a cat or dog. If this were implemented in a released bot the images would actually fill pretty quickly and make the method about useless to stop botters.
in another forum they talked about how you could goto adopt me and get a page of all the pictures by doing that and maybe be able to find out the difference between a cat and dog pictures in the .xml files.
Problem: when you click the adopt me link it it disqualifies that "Asirra" bringing up a different one.

the problem they have with letting the bots run is there advertisers know there are bots. Hence if there are bots why should an advertiser pay the same amount. if half the people that search are bots. so it would cut down there pricing which they would not want.

That's exactly what's going to happen. Bing is going to see a massive drop in activity. I know I'll still bot bing seing that I'm home a lot seeing that all my classes are online, but a lot of people will quit botting. I hope they bring back captchas instead of these Cat-chas.
rofl!
I had a picture of what looked like nothing but a skyscraper. As far as I can tell someone who was working in the building must have decided to bring their cat with them that day because when I did not select the picture, it reloaded. So, a word for the wise. Just because you can't see the cat, doesn't mean it's not there.
I hate this new system. I never actually bought decap anyway, so I'm used to sitting in front of my computer while botting. There was once a stupid image of a snowman and it kept coming up. I thought I would get banned from that =P
ive got pictures of snowmen pictures of random shit pictures of guys taking pictures -.- and some pictures that have a guy with some type of animal 100ft from the camera
Do all games on Club Bing have the catcha now, or do some still have the old captcha? I know I was playing a few games legitly and I kept getting the old captchas, but maybe that was also because I was going slower than a bot. Does anyone know if the speed at which you complete the games affects whether you get the catcha or captcha, or is it completely random?
