What I'm looking for is, specifically, the best (or more popular) IDE's for

-C#
-VB.NET
-C/C++
If your just dealing with windows, visual studio by far. If you are going to be doing linux then I would check out monodevelop for .net languages (c#, vb, etc) or kdevelop or anjuta for c/c++ development.

Visual SlickEdit is very popular among professional programmers. It's extremely powerful, and handy if your compiler doesn't come with an IDE. I still use it at home even though I am no longer a professional programmer.
